New Saddle Pad
So in the midst of the craziness that was black Friday I also went shopping.
I picked up this really nice saddle pad from Mulefoot Studios ( her etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MulefootStudios ) and it looks super nice with my bay (most of what I collect are bays... I may have a bay problem)

Burn Out
In October I was tired, so I decided to set the close date for orders at the end of November. I reasoned that it would give packages plenty of time to reach their destinations and I could take a bit of a break over the holidays. What I didn't expect was how much my shop had grown in the past year and how that would affect the Christmas rush or how the pandemic would in essence extend the Christmas rush. It got too big and not big enough if that makes sense. I've been putting in a extra 10-20 hrs a week on this shop and that's on top of a fulltime job. If wishes were horses, I'd just quit my day job and make things for model horses permanently but that's really not sustainable. The cyber week sale was a smashing success and I put to work all the knowledge I learned last year such as having a longer processing time because etsy doesn't change the processing time if a person buys 1 item or 20. And when you have multiple 20+ item orders it's going to take some time to get everything together. Plus some items are still made to order because I just cannot predict what colors people are going to order and I don't have the space to keep lots of stock. All this to say that I'm working like crazy to get the last of the orders out within the processing time. Luckily, even if I overshoot that processing time, we still have a week until USPS's cutoff for things arriving before Christmas, which is Dec. 18th for first class mail.
I put my shop on vacation mode, it should reopen sometime in mid-January depending on how I feel.
